I've thought about attempting a cheesecake for a while but it's an extravagant dessert and takes a while to chill. Cookies are much faster. Recently it was Fettish's birthday and he requested one instead of a cake so I finally had an excuse to try it. The recipe is Alton Brown's Sour Cream Cheesecake from the foodnetwork.com, except I made the interesting decision to not use a 9 x 3 cake pan. Instead I used a 9" pie pan, 3 little ready made pie crusts from the store, and I still have enough to make another pie stored in the fridge. Next time I make a cheesecake I will be buying a springform pan.
The results were fairly decent. Fettish like it a lot so I was happy with the results. I'll probably try a different recipe though, the creamyness was right but the taste was a little off. Maybe less vanilla? I think next time I make one I will try a chocolate cheesecake recipe.
I have an excuse to make something for June 1st. A friend of mine is having a housewarming party and she asked for something with peanut butter. I'm think of maybe trying Ina Garten's chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, but who knows. My stupid internet connections is refusing to allow me to upload pics right now so I will do it later when it's behaving.

The beginning...
Hello great big blogosphere, I'm N1nj4G1rl and this is Fettish and I's food blog! We are an unmarried (domestic partnered!) couple with an adorable 3 month old son who are just getting into the world of preparing food. We both cook, but only I bake. We've been cooking almost every meal from as close to scratch as possible for a while now and we decided it was time to post all the wonderful dishes up on the tubes and share them with the few who happen to stumble by. We hope to make you laugh and salivate with our posts and the accompanying pictures of the food.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
